Agile coaching at Prague / Brno / Ostrava / Pilsen / Bratislava and beyond

Have you just decided to implement Agile methods in your team or organization? Well, let’s say you’ve just either passed training or you’ve read several books or blogs about Agile and Scrum so you feel good and empowered to start. Nowadays, the most common and popular Agile process is Scrum. But you can use Kanban or combination of both – sometimes called Scrumban. Or go for Extreme programming as well. If everything is going well you are able to make Agile transformation successfully on your own. But such change is not as easy as people would expect. Not all companies and teams reach expected good level of adoption – the better performance, efficiency, flexibility, quality, cooperation and better relationship with customer. The transformation often goes slowly and you are facing number of small or big problems on your way. And no Certified Scrum Master will save you from failing.

If you are stuck during your Agile transformation it’s helpful to get support from someone outside of the team/company who has experiences with this huge change. It’s often useful to ask somebody for independent view and help your Scrum Master, team, or company management to get back on track. Coach/coaching is very popular word today. It’s same with Agile – it’s really buzzword now. However you feel fuzzy about it, the role of the Agile coach is quite defined. As Agile coach I can work at three different levels. The first level is team level facilitation when Agile coach works with the whole team and Scrum Master. In that role I’m not coaching one person how it’s common during standard coaching, but the whole team. I usually help with facilitation, clear out come dysfunctions and problems, and straiten their understanding of Scrum / Agile roles, principles and values. In the second level, I can work directly with Scrum Masters and helping them to achieve their goals and teach them how to coach teams. We are spending more time to improve their coaching skills and to fix / maintain the relationships with the team and other roles (Product Owner, Manager, other teams). Finally when both levels become kind of routine, there is a level of Enterprise coach. In this role I try to encourage people to form self-organized teams and take over the responsibility for gardening the Agile mindset across the company to move it to the next level.

My work as the Agile coach covers all three defined levels - starting the whole Agile transformation from the first team and Scrum Master until change to the fully Agile company. I offer Agile coaching to companies around the whole Czech Republic – doesn’t matter where you are placed – Prague, Brno, Ostrava, Pilsen. I often travel for work around the Europe region and I have clients at Bratislava or Zilina at Slovakia, or other European places.
