CAL - Certified Agile Leadership Course

The Certified Agile Leadership (CAL1 / CAL-E + CAL-O) class brings awareness of Agile leadership thinking, focus, and behaviors and is a great way to start your journey of Agile Leader. The focus of the class is to understand the concept of the Agile Organization, it's structure, culture, and the role of a leader.

The class provides a balanced education, practice, and peer collaboration. Learn about different management styles and industry trends in modern management. Managers are key to a successful Agile organization.

Certified Agile Leadership class is a great start ...

Participants will develop Agile leadership competency and maturity, which increases the effectiveness of a leader in a complex and rapidly changing environment. Exploring the way agile leaders think, focus, and behave allows the participants to begin their learning journey regarding what it takes to lead in today’s workplace. We bring awareness to the practices and principles of agility and how they apply to businesses and organizations. Through analysis of case studies, assessment, discussion and evaluation, participants will gain insight into what practices will enable them to lead real change across their organization.

The Certified Agile Leadership class is a great start for the managers and leaders of the Agile organization to stay competitive in an Agile environment. Organizations today are striving to stay on top of rapidly changing business needs and are coming to understand that the need to respond and adapt quickly is becoming increasingly important. Business leaders are now required to shift the way that they think about their role as a leader, their relationship to their employees, and the culture of their organization. Agile leaders are needed to help their organizations thrive in a volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous (VUCA) world.

In the case of virtual delivery, we are using Zoom with breakouts and the Mural board for collaboration. Our virtual classes are highly interactive, we are using the Training from the Back of the Room, where participants collaborate in small teams on tasks, discuss the scenarios, and solve the use cases. We don't lose the interactivity nor any games, see how virtual classes are delivered.

Day 1: Agile Leader Competencies

Why Agile is everywhere
Discuss trends in management, go through a history of organizational structures and explain the context for Agile transformation, organization, and culture.

What kind of leader are you
Discover Agile Leader competencies. Discuss strengths and opportunities for yourself and your organization. How to develop Agile management mindset.

Understand dynamics of Agile Organization and its culture
Reflect on different leadership models, how they influence the organization and its culture. Define Agile Organization, and discuss how you can measure Agile transformation.

Share & learn from others
Evaluate case studies of several agile organizations. Discuss with others their structures and cultures in reflection with the case studies. 

Day 2: Agile Leadership Model

System view
Experience the system dynamics and behavior. Understand the organization as a system. Apply it to the context of your organization.

Get Awareness
Observe what is happening around you in your organization. Listen to the voice of the system and feel the energy of it. Reflect.

Embrace it 
Apply the organizational structure and culture models to organizations you know. Deep dive into culture and structure models.

Act Upon  
Understand the complexity of the change. Get ready to influence the organization through yourself, others and the system.

The class is a great preparation to become a Certified Agile Coach (CAC) - Scrum Alliance Certified Team Coach (CTC) or Certified Enterprise Coach (CEC).
